What is KINDA?
KINDA (pronounced kind-a, as in this was ‘a kinda good idea’) was formed in October 2014 in response to a perceived need to address the dementia time-bomb that is ticking away in all our communities.
We are a group of like-minded people, from charity workers to shop keepers, youth workers to the retired, who were inspired by what our colleagues had achieved in Brecon and recognised that there was a need in this area to support both people living with dementia and their carers. We are an organisation without boundaries and eventually aspire to cover the upper Teme valley area from Leintwardine to Felindre. This is a bold project covering areas of Radnorshire, Herefordshire and Shropshire. At this stage, there is no formal membership. If you support what we are doing then you are a KINDA friend.
Many of our friends are also Dementia Friends who have attended one of the regular Alzheimer’s Society sponsored Dementia Friends Awareness sessions that we run. However, you do not need to be a Dementia Friend to be involved in KINDA – just a KINDA nice sort of person.
